Alec Baldwin appears to be in another war with the paparazzi, and this time they are claiming the “30 Rock” actor used racial slurs and threatened to “choke” a reporter in a confrontation that took place today.

Ironically, it may the paparazzi-king TMZ that saves Baldwin’s reputation this time.

The incident allegedly occurred when reporters wanted a comment from the actor over a lawsuit involving his new wife. The New York Post writes that Baldwin grew agitated and called a black photographer a “coon” and threatened a female reporter by telling her “I want to choke you to death.” Both allegations have been vehemently denied by Baldwin and his representatives.

Now TMZ writes that its sources heard the tape of the confrontation, and that there is no mention of the racial slur. In addition, the site writes that claims he said “I want to choke you to death” were wrong. Baldwin actually said “I want you to choke to death.” Still hostile words but a significant change in meaning.

“The claim of racist remarks is one of the most outrageous things I’ve heard in my life,” the actor said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
