The upcoming spinoff of “NCIS: Los Angeles” is starting to come together.

Edwin Hodge is the first actor that’s been cast on the show, where he’ll appear as a series regular.

Hodge will play a witty and tech savvy computer expert named Kai Ashe, according to Deadline.

This second “NCIS” spinoff will follow a team of mobile agents as they solve crimes across the country. The potential series will be introduced as a “backdoor pilot” on an episode of “NCIS: LA” later this season called “Red.”

Hodge appeared earlier this season on an episode of the original “NCIS.” His lengthy TV resume includes roles on “Cougar Town,” “Boston Public,” “Jack & Bobby,” and “Invasion.”

Hodge’s younger brother Aldis Hodge is also an actor, who co-starred for the last four years on TNT’s “Leverage.”
