Actor Robin Sachs, who played the evil Ethan Rayne on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” has died at the age of 61.

The British actor drew a following among sci-fi fans not only for his role on “Buffy,” but also for appearances in projects such as “Babylon 5,” “Star Trek: Voyager,” “Torchwood: Miracle Day” and the movie “Galaxy Quest” as well as for video games that include “Mass Effect 2″ and 3 and “Resident Evil Damnation.” His passing was reported by BBC News.

Staff members form the actor’s official website mourned his passing, posting: “Please join us in raising a glass to Robin – goodbye, dear friend. Thank you for all the laughter and the cookies. We will miss you so very much.”
