Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are no strangers to television cameras. But when it comes to their baby’s time in the spotlight, privacy is the optimal word.
In an appearance on Tuesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” with her sister Kourtney, Kim, who’s due this summer, said she and West “don’t think” their baby will be featured on any of the family’s numerous reality shows.
“When the baby is old enough and she or he decides that’s what they want to do, then that will be a decision,” Kim explained to Kimmel. “We’re going to try to keep it as private as possible.”
Kim went on to say that the decision was a “personal choice,” but she doesn’t fault Kourtney for showing her two children with boyfriend Scott Disick on television. “I love seeing Mason and Penelope on TV,” Kim said. “Mason is the highlight of our show, I think.”
Kimmel asked whether Kim’s choice made Kourtney feel bad for allowing her kids to be on camera. “It’s a struggle,” she admitted, saying that ultimately she thinks “them being with their mom is the best thing.”
Although Kim has yet to find out the gender of their baby (news they plan to keep in the family), she’s positive that their kid will be fashionable, thanks to dad’s sense of style. “If anyone knows Kanye, they just know how into fashion he is, and I think he’s going to have things specially made,” Kim admitted after Kimmel asked whether the couple would accept hand-me-downs from Kourtney.
Some options for Baby West? Gold chains and leather pants, the sisters joked.
“Leather baby pants?” Kimmel asked. “Wow. Imagine crapping in something that expensive!”
