Count Anderson Cooper as one Beyoncé fan who will take her singing any way he can get it.

During Tuesday night’s “The RidicuList” segment of his show on CNN, Cooper took on the post-inauguration lip-syncing scandal, noting that the swarm of publicity over it was uncalled for.

“I respond with a big star-spangled so what?” Cooper said in the segment. “As far as I’m concerned, it is Beyoncé’s world and we are just living in it.”

Cooper went on to note that shile the famed singer wasn’t singing live, it was her voice that was used for the national anthem.

“I’m releasing a statement right now saying I just don’t care,” he continued. “We got to look at Beyoncé’s beautiful face and hear Beyoncé’s beautiful voice singing the national anthem. There is only one thing we should say today and that is thank you, Beyoncé! Francis Scott Key himself would send her a fruit basket.”

So where does this rank in the list of infamous mock singing scandals?

“Talk to me after you’ve gotten on the stage in front of the president of the United States and hundreds of thousands to sing the national anthem in 40-degree weather.”
