As the “X Factor” faces the prospects of its second major overhaul in two seasons, viewers are wondering if there will be any more casualties.
Now that Britney Spears has ended the speculation that she was getting fired from the show by quitting first, the next question mark looms over “X Factor” co-host Khloe Kardashian.
Kardashian and Mario Lopez joined the FOX singing competition last season as its new co-hosts, but Khloe’s hosting abilities were not well-received by critics. The Kardashian sibling usually gets the laughs on her family’s multiple E! reality shows, but on live TV, she often appeared uncomfortable and awkward.
When recently asked by E! News if she would be returning for Season 3, Kardashian replied, “I hope so,” but it’s evident that her future on the show is uncertain.

Music executive L.A. Reid announced at the end of the season that he was leaving his position as judge after two seasons. Season 2 judge Demi Lovato is likely to return, although nothing has been finalized.
Executive producer and head judge Simon Cowell has been taking time off since this season wrapped and has not made any decisions about the casting for Season 3. Fox execs say it may be several months before any announcements are made.
After the first season failed to meet its high expectations, “The X Factor” fired most of its core cast, letting go of judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, as well as host Steve Jones. They also ditched original judge Cheryl Cole during the auditions process before any episodes were ever aired.
