Movie star Mark Wahlberg made the monotony of the morning traffic and weather reports a lot more exciting for Philadelphians.

To promote his new movie “Broken City,” the actor and the film’s director Allen Hughes visited the set of Philadelphia’s local morning show, FOX 29′s “Good Day Philadelphia” and took over the broadcast to give their spin on Wednesday’s forecast.

“This is perfect golf weather, by the way” Wahlberg quipped of the day’s 54 degree temperatures.

When it came to the city’s notorious traffic congestion on Route 76, Wahlberg said you can expect the usual delays of 40-45 minutes if you’re headed eastbound into the city. “You’re going to have some serious problems,” he added, “Why don’t you stop and get yourself a hoagie?”

“Broken City,” which also stars Russell Crowe and Catherine Zeta-Jones, opens Jan. 18.

Scarlett Johansson recently pulled a similar stunt on the “Today” show when she filled in for an ailing Roker for a segment on the weather.
