Jimmy Fallon engineered a mini-reunion of “Cosby Show” stars when both Bill Cosby and Tempestt Bledsoe were guests on the same night on NBC’s “Late Night.”

The two were booked as separate guests, but their appearances fell coincidentally on the same day. At least, that’s what Fallon said on the show Friday night.

“It just so happened that you were both booked on our show and we didn’t plan this,” insisted Fallon, who was visibly pleased to be having both “Dr. Huxtable” (Cosby, 75) and daughter “Vanessa” (Bledsoe, 39) sitting together on his show.

Cosby was the show’s first guest, but he stuck around for Bledsoe’s segments when she came on the show to promote her current sitcom, “Guys With Kids,” which airs on NBC and happens to be produced by Fallon.

It was a cozy situation, and Cosby obviously has paternal feelings for Bledsoe. The two talked about what it was like behind the scenes at their revered sitcom. And Bledsoe even told a story about how Cosby encouraged her to go to college, and promised that the “Cosby Show” shooting schedule would be arranged to accommodate her.

Watch Part One of this mini-reunion of Huxtables on NBC’s “Late Night”:

With two stars sitting before him from a show that evidently meant a lot to Fallon when he was growing up, the comedian played the role of a fan when he asked “the ultimate fan question”: “What is the episode that everyone brings up to you? What is everyone’s favorite episode [of "The Cosby Show"]?”

And Bledsoe answered: “The one I hear about all the time is when we all came down the stairs singing to our grandparents’ [on their] anniversary.”

In the scene we think she was referring to, the Huxtable family danced and lip-synched to a Ray Charles song called “Night Time is the Right Time.”

And while we’re on the subject, watch Tempestt in an episode of “Guys With Kids”:
