Comedy Central has ordered fourth and fifth seasons of “Workaholics.”
The half hour comedy is created by and stars Blake Anderson, Adam Devine and Anders Holm as a group of roommates and office misfits working at the fictional TelAmeriCorp!
“It’s been a huge hit for us,” Comedy Central’s head of Original Programming Kent Alterman told reporters at the show’s TCA panel in Pasadena on Saturday. “I think that these guys are deceptively talented and really reflect the sensibility of our network.”
“That’s huge news for us,” Anderson shouted enthusiastically in between sips of beer.
“It’s such a dream come true, to go from [creating content on] the internet to this,” Devine noted. “We’re really excited.”
Devine went on to credit the FX comedy “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” for paving the way for them as fellow self starters. “They made it on their own and came up through the ranks,” he said. “Luckily we have Comedy Central who believes in us and gave us an opportunity.”
Over its third season summer run the series averaged 2 million viewers and was the highest rated series in its timeslot across the coveted Men 18-34 demographic.
New episodes of “Workaholics” return on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 10/9c on Comedy Central.
