The long-running USA Network series “Psych” has been renewed for an eighth season.

“What better holiday present to give our fans than to announce #Psych has been picked up for an 8th season! Happy holidays!,” read a note posted on the show’s Twitter page Wednesday night.

The pick-up news comes on the cusp of the premiere of Season 7, which is set to debut this winter. There’s speculation that Season 8 may be the show’s last season, but that is unconfirmed.

The upcoming season of 16 new episodes features a milestone — the series’ 100th episode — and a special two-hour musical installment.

The crime-solving comedy stars James Roday and Dulé Hill as a faux psychic and his best friend who help the Santa Barbara Police Department with their cases.

It airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on the USA Network, with new episodes beginning February 27.
