Legendary “Hitchcock Blonde” Tippi Hedren is headed to “Cougar Town” for a juicy guest-starring role.
Hedren will play herself in the Season 4 finale of the ensemble comedy starring Courteney Cox and her wino neighbors known as “the cul de sac crew.” In the episode, the gang schemes to capture Tippi Hedren to cheer up Jules’ dad, Chick, according to the press release. “From harassing a tour guide to stalking Tippi’s home, the crew will stop at nothing for Chick to have a glass of champagne with one of his favorite stars.”
Hedren appeared in a fun cameo — in a coffin — this fall on Fox’s “Raising Hope,” where her actress daughter Melanie Griffith guest starred as Sabrina’s mother.
Hedren, who’s best known for her roles in the Alfred Hitchcock films “The Birds” and “Marnie,” also was the subject of this fall’s HBO film “The Girl,” in which Sienna Miller portrayed Hedren in the unsettling re-telling of the making of those 1960s classics — and the legendary director’s creepy obsession with his leading lady.
“Cougar Town,” which has hopped networks from ABC to TBS, premieres its fourth season on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 10/9c on TBS.
