The legend of the Hatfields and McCoys is about to take a modern spin.

Following the success of the “Hatfields & McCoys” miniseries on History Channel, the network is looking to revisit the famed families with a new reality series that will focus on the descendants of the once-feuding clans, according to Deadline. Of course, after the one-time feud cost at least a dozen lives, the two families are no longer at odds.

The “Hatfields & McCoys” miniseries starred Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton and scored 13.9 million viewers last May, as well as 16 Emmy nominations as well as a couple of Golden Globe nominations, which were announced today.

That won’t be the only TV take on the feud, however. NBC is developing a modern day Hatfields & McCoys drama series that is being executive produced by Charlize Theron.
