ABC Sets Series Finale Date for ‘Private Practice’

ABC has revealed the end date for “Private Practice“: the series finale will air Jan. 22, 2013.
The network decided earlier this year to end the “Grey’s Anatomy” spin-off from Shonda Rhimes after six seasons.
For the last hurrah — the episode is titled “In Which We Say Goodbye” — original cast member Audra McDonald will return to help Kate Walsh, Benjamin Bratt and the gang give the Seaside Wellness clinic a presumably sentimental send-off.
After working together for six years, it wasn’t easy for the cast to say goodbye when shooting wrapped earlier this month.
“It was tough,” co-star Taye Diggs told “Access Hollywood” on Wednesday. “We have a really great cast of actors, we’re really close. But we had a good run.”
