So much as happened since we last saw “Bachelorette” vet Sean Lowe get the heave-ho from Emily Maynard.
First of all, Maynard has already broken up with her eventual pick Jef Holm. More importantly, however, Lowe became the next single guy looking for love on the next edition of “The Bachelor,” which will debut on Jan. 7 on ABC.
The network had Lowe speak with reporters about the upcoming season and its much-hyped “mystery contestant” as well as his feelings toward Maynard, according to E! Online.
Lowe expects the mystery contestant to shock TV audiences (click here to find out who it reportedly is).
“I think America will be surprised to see who it is,” he said “I know I was certainly shocked when she stepped out of the limo on the first night. I’m glad she did come the first night. I probably would have done the same thing Ben [Flajnik] did, just so I wouldn’t infuriate the other women that had been there the first several weeks.”
As for any lingering feelings (bitter or otherwise) toward Maynard, Lowe now says that he quickly came to terms with the fact that she wasn’t his soul mate.
“My feelings for Emily were very real, and most of the people who watched the show could definitely recognize that,” he said. “I wouldn’t have accepted The Bachelor unless my heart was definitely mended. I realized over time she’s not the one for me, and I knew she had her doubts about me. The woman I spend the rest of my life with, I don’t want her to have any doubts.”
