Lifetime is in the mood for a little Jane Austen.
The network is working with Jennifer Love Hewitt to develop a new series called “Darcy’s Town,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series is described as a modern retelling of Austen’s classic “Pride and Prejudice” but set in a small Virginia town.
Hewitt, of course, stars in “The Client List” for the network, and she has a development deal with the channel that includes not only the Austen-inspired show, but an adaptation of her book “The Day I Shot Cupid” for Lifetime as well.
“Pride and Prejudice” was first published in 1813 and features the lives of the Bennet family and one women’s love affair in 19th century England.
