Multiple media pundits have long speculated that George Stephanopoulos’s run as host of “This Week” would be all but wrapped up once the presidential election was over. However, that no longer appears to be the case.
Stephanopoulos will now continue to role on the public affairs program into 2013, according to The Huffington Post, as well as his hosting gig on “Good Morning America” and will stay for the foreseeable future.
“Both shows have momentum and he’s enjoying what he’s doing,” an ABC News spokesman told The Huffington Post.
Stephanopoulos first became host of “This Week” in 2002 and remained until he was joined “GMA” in 2009 and was replaced by Christiane Amanpour on the show. However, Amanpour left “This Week” two years later and Stephanopoulos once again returned to his role.
