Two TV couples got married Saturday in separate ceremonies and, of course, TV cameras captured both of them for upcoming TV specials.
First up will be the televised nuptials of Mario Lopez of “Extra” and “The X Factor.” Lopez, the former teen star of “Saved By the Bell,” married his girlfriend of four years, Courtney Mazza, on a Mexico beach on Saturday, according to this story on the Us Weekly web site. Their 2-year-old daughter, Gia, served as a flower girl, wearing a dress that matched her mother’s.
Few other details were divulged in the Us Weekly story, but you will be able to see the whole thing in a little less than a week when TLC airs its Lopez-Mazza wedding special, titled “Mario & Courtney’s Wedding Fiesta.”
It’s scheduled to air Saturday, Dec. 8, at 8/7c on TLC (no, Honey Boo Boo was not maid of honor — or so we presume). Lopez is 39. The couple met when they both appeared in a production of “A Chorus Line” on Broadway.
Meanwhile, at about the same time that Mario Lopez was getting hitched in Mexico, Ashley Hebert of “The Bachelorette” was marrying J.P. Rosenbaum in a ceremony in Pasadena, Calif., that was filmed for an ABC special.
Hebert, 28, was the star of season seven of “The Bachelorette,” and Rosenbaum was her pick. He proposed to her on national TV in August 2011. According to this Us story, the two were married Saturday in an outdoor ceremony attended by, among others, “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” alumni Emily Maynard, Ali Fedotowsky, Michelle Money, Michael Stagliano, and Ryan and Tristan Sutter, who were married on an ABC special of their own. “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” host Chris Harrison officiated at the marriage of Hebert and Rosenbaum (under California law, just about anyone can be empowered to perform wedding ceremonies).
Hebert’s and Rosenbaum’s wedding special is scheduled to air Sunday, Dec. 16, on ABC.
