Nick Lachey will host another singing-competition show for NBC, the network announced late Friday.

This new one is called “The Winner Is,” and it’s from the folks who produce “The Voice” for NBC.

According to NBC’s description of the show, it will be a wide open competition encompassing solo singers and singing groups of all ages, and from all walks of life, performing any style of music.

Here’s the show’s main gimmick: Competitors will advance by competing in one-on-one face-offs. The winner of each face-off will then get to move to another round, with ever-increasing amounts of money on the line. However, they can accept another sum of money to call it quits, and give up the opportunity to move on and win even more.

NBC gave no timetable for when the series would be produced, when it would air or how many episodes would be produced. Auditions are scheduled, though, starting next weekend, in Raleigh, N.C., Seattle, Houston and Philadelphia. Get all the audition details here. They’ve already held a round of auditions in Atlanta.

Lachey, 39, previously hosted another NBC singing competition, “The Sing-Off,” which lasted through three cycles.
