Paula Abdul is making a habit of appearing on “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars.” The singer/dancer/choreographer, who was guest judge on the show earlier this season, will be performing a medley of her hits with “DWTS” pro dancers on Tuesday night’s double elimination show. And the gig also gives her a chance to hang out with her former “American Idol” and “The X Factor” co-star, Simon Cowell.
Because “DWTS” shoots at CBS Studios near the “X Factor” stage, Paula told reporters, “I walk out and go, ‘I’m back!’ And they go, ‘what?!’ I did that to Simon. I walked in his trailer and said, ‘I’m back!’ He said, ‘I miss my P.!’”
Meanwhile, look for Paula to strut her stuff on Tuesday night’s “DWTS” results show.
“The best part is I get to revisit four of my number one hits, and when ‘DWTS’ offered me the ability to perform, I said, ‘Well, I’d like to do a medley of my songs and I’d like to do something that’s kind of never been done on television before visually,’ and they said okay, … and we’ve been anxiety ridden ever since. This kind of performance is interactive, 3D, there’s kooky things going on — I have cameo appearances from some of the pros that I put them in compromising situations and positions. It’s whimsical. It’s my dream.”
When pressed about this mysterious number, Paula all but confirmed that MC Skat Kat, the animated dancing cat from her famous “Opposites Attract” video, might be making a comeback on Tuesday night! “Someone’s coming out of retirement,” she smiled. “I’ve been rehearsing with him and I can’t understand his dance moves. He’s all over the place. I told him he needs to get some rhythm because I can’t keep up with him.”
