Rumors continue to swirl that “Good Morning America” personality Josh Elliott can be pretty rough on his co-workers.

The New York Post reports that Elliott, 41, met with “a top producer” at “GMA” (who wasn’t named) to discuss Elliott’s habit — “alleged” habit, we should say — for “lashing out” at “GMA” employees on the set of the ABC News show.

“He’s being gossiped about in the media, and Josh is lashing out in a passive-aggressive way,” says an unnamed source quoted on The Post’s Page Six gossip page here. “They’re concerned about his behavior and trying to come up with a game plan. He’s a popular anchor, and they want to stop the gossip and focus on developing his talent.”

What’s Elliott being accused of? Well, The Post last wrote about Elliott’s behavior (“alleged” behavior) in August, reporting at the time that co-workers at “GMA” were upset over his behavior, included berating writers over script points. According to the Post, Elliott’s tirades include profanity, and they’ve been heard by everyone on-set because Elliott has delivered them while his microphone was on.

To be fair, The Post story quotes another source — an unnamed one — as saying Elliott’s meeting with that producer was not about his behavior, but about developing new ways to feature him on “GMA” and ABC. “There was a meeting last week to talk about what kind of series the execs would like Josh to work on, and ramping up some additional editorial support for him. This was an editorial meeting, period,” this source is quoted as saying.

Our take: Sorry, this one’s a tough call. On the one hand, we’ve heard enough stories over the years about headstrong air talent that this reported behavior by Elliott wouldn’t surprise us at all. On the other hand, this story has two very opposing statements about what that meeting was all about. And the more benign version could well be true. Stay tuned.
