The “CSI” guys will be using double the force for a special case when CBS airs a two-part “CSI” crossover episode with “CSI: NY” in February 2013, the network announced Tuesday.

In a case that gets deeply personal for Det. Mac Taylor, Gary Sinise’s character heads to Las Vegas to surprise his girlfriend, but he’s the one surprised when she turns up missing. So he rings up the “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” crew and joins forces with Ted Danson’s D.B. Russell to track her down.

The investigation then picks up later that week on “CSI: NY,” where Danson will guest star when Russell flies to the Big Apple to help Taylor determine what the kidnappers’ motives could be and whether or not Christine is still alive.

The “CSI” episode featuring Gary Sinise will air on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 10/9c on CBS; the “CSI: NY” episode guest starring Ted Danson will air on Friday, Feb. 8 at 9/8c on CBS.
