Watch: Dave’s ‘Top Ten Discontinued Guy Fieri Menu Items’

The only thing missing from this “Top Ten” list was Guy Fieri himself.

We have a feeling the folks at David Letterman’s “Late Show” probably reached out to Fieri to see if he would come on the show Thursday night and deliver this list himself. After all, Fieri was evidently in New York City yesterday because we saw him on “The Today Show” earlier in the day.

Having Guy actually deliver this list may have made the bit marginally funnier, but as it was, Letterman himself put it over as only he can. We especially liked Dave’s preamble to the list, as he attempted to explain the whole backstory about how Fieri’s new Times Square restaurant in New York — Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar — was panned by a New York Times restaurant critic on Wednesday in one of the most brutal reviews ever published in that newspaper.

The review lambasted numerous items on the restaurant’s menu — which spawned the idea behind this Letterman “Top Ten” list. Among the “items” on Dave’s list:

“No 10: Inappropriately rubbed brisket!”

“No. 7: Guy’s famous grilled shirtsleeve!”

“No. 4: Seared halibut with intestinal parasite reduction!”
