Fresh off the presidential election, NBC is hungry for some more presidential politics. In this case, however, the channel will take a look at the first founding father himself, George Washington.

NBC has signed on for a new historical drama that would follow Washington, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series would be based on the biography of the country’s first president, called Washington: A Life. The project would take “an unprecedented and intimate look at the leader who became the father of a nation on one side of the Atlantic and a terrorist on the other,” according to the report. “Episodes of the potential series would move back and forth through the war hero and president’s life and tell the little-known and unlikely story of his survival and triumph, revealing his true character for the first time — not the tale of the man who chopped down the cherry tree,”

Producers told the magazine that the series would focus on sides of George Washington that most Americans didn’t know about, such as his adulterous affair with his best friend’s wife, his obsession with social status, and more.
