Executives at Macy’s have made a decision about whether or not the company will fire Donald Trump.
A petition went viral in recent days seeking to remove the “Celebrity Apprentice” patriarch after he made numerous quips about President Obama’s nationality and called for a revolution after the election. The petition drew over half a million signatures. However, Macy’s has decided not to “Dump Trump.”
“Macy’s marketing and merchandise offerings are not representative of any political position,” the company said in a statement obtained by US Weekly. “Many of the individuals associated with products sold at Macy’s — or at any retailer, for that matter — express personal opinions that are not related to the merchandise we sell or to the philosophies of our company.”
Trump sells fragrances and ties at Macy’s stores, and appears in commercials with the likes of Justin Bieber, P. Diddy and Martha Stewart in Macy’s commercials.
