Love can be intoxicating, but on “The Bachelor,” it’s usually just toxic.

Because once the show ends, it turns into a harsh reality for many contestants, who often find themselves wooed not just by “The Bachelor” but also by the seductive settings, dazzling dates and trips to paradise. (No wonder these ladies seem to have cloudy judgment and fall harder and faster than any sane woman would.)

Courtney Robertson, who recently ended her engagement to last season’s “Bachelor” Ben Flajnik, admits the staged scenarios and being isolated in the reality bubble for two months, may have contributed to her falling for Flajnik.

“In many ways, I felt brainwashed,” Robertson, 29, tells Us Weekly.. “You’re so closed off!”

Robertson also says not all of those romantic gestures seen on the show are authentic (shocker). Like the time in Switzerland when Ben was so sweet and brought her favorite popcorn on their date? “I realize it wasn’t him. It was the producer,” Courtney says.

It’s also not surprising to hear that after the show wrapped, the engaged couple rarely saw each other, according to the Us story, and when they did, the romance was dead. “Ben said he was ‘all picnicked out,’” Courtney claims.

Courtney isn’t the only one feeling duped.

Her ex-fiance Ben is sounding just a tad bitter about Courtney’s new gossip-page romance with “Bachelorette” hottie Arie Luyendyk, telling People magazine that he doesn’t know who Courtney is anymore.

“I look at these staged photos of the two of them and I’m like: Why is she doing this? The girl that I loved never wanted to be famous and I look at these set-ups and I think I got out at the right time,” Ben says.

He added, “I see certain things in the media and I wonder, did I ever really know her? I try to avoid it all together.”
