Lindsay Lohan has pulled out of her interview with ABC’s Barbara Walters at the last minute.
The sitdown, which would have been her first major interview in years, was scheduled to air Nov. 16 on “20/20,” timed to promote the premiere of Lohan’s Elizabeth Taylor Lifetime movie, “Liz & Dick.”
According to Deadline, Lohan’s new PR team (her previous handlers recently quit) was “dissatisfied with the direction ABC wanted to take the interview.”
Translation: Team Lohan wanted “The View” host to focus on the new movie and not Lohan’s personal troubles. There are plenty to choose from, of course, the latest of which include her father Michael staging an “intervention” for Lindsay last month; her mother Dina appearing under the influence on Dr. Phil; police intervening in a fight between Lindsay and her mom; not to mention Lohan’s terrible driving record.
Since Lohan’s legal and family troubles completely overshadow the current state of her career, that seems to be a ridiculous request. And so, the interview, which when first announced had been touted as “revealing” because Lohan “trusts Barbara,” has been nixed.
