Kelly Monaco and her “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” partner Val Chmerkovskiy keep causing tongues to wag that their show chemistry might have transferred into real life.
In behind-the-scenes footage that aired Monday night on the show, Val asked Kelly if they could keep seeing each other once “DWTS” was done. Their dance, in which Val’s character presented Kelly with a ring and a proposal, raised even more eyebrows. After the cha cha/foxtrot fusion dance, Val even joked to hostess Brooke Burke-Charvet that everyone could expect children from them soon!
But Kelly, whose actor-boyfriend Heath Freeman has been seen in the “DWTS” audience, told xfinityTV about her post-show future with Val, “It just means we’re going to be pen pals. We’re going to email each other, keep in touch, tell each other what we’re eating. It’s called friendship. How ’bout that?”
According to Kelly, she and Val are simply on the same wavelength: “I don’t have to explain the things I’m thinking or the words that are coming out of my mouth or who I am.” Val confirmed, “There’s a sense of familiarity. You appreciate those things.”
The “General Hospital” beauty didn’t want to put any labels on their relationship and Val said, “We have a great time when we’re together. We have great conversation, we hang out, we make fun of the same people, we like similar things and that’s that.”
Val would like for them to do a project together and Kelly hopes he might get a small role as a doctor on her soap opera. “He’s not counting his eggs before they hatch, but we’re on it,” Kelly said. Val said, “I’m not the type to politic my way into anything. If I’m asked, it would be my pleasure.”
Meanwhile, though, he told xfinityTV that giving Kelly a ring during their dance was “the appropriate next step. We’ve been through so much together. I don’t want to keep a girl waiting.” Adding fuel to the romance rumor fires, Val said, “She’ll get a much better ring, I promise.”
We’re just going to keep assuming he’s joking!
