Kirstie Alley, who has revealed how she fell for her former “Look Who’s Talking” co-star John Travolta in an interview with Barbara Walters, elaborated on the story to reporters after performing on “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” Monday night.

“He’s the love of my life. He is,” said the former “Cheers” actress, who has written about John in her new memoir called “The Art of Men.” “If you read the book you’ll see why. It had to evolve. It was a complex relationship. At every single part of our journey, we were in love with each other but then we had to turn it into something else.”

Kirstie was married to actor Parker Stevenson at the time she starred in the 1989 movie with John and developed strong feelings for him. “I was married. It was hard. I was tempted to get a divorce and then I wanted to do the right thing. It was complex,” she sighed.

She said her revelation hasn’t marred her friendship with John and his wife, Kelly Preston. “It’s really bizarre that his wife is my best friend and he’s my other best friend. You just don’t hear of that.”

According to Kirstie, she didn’t tell John she was going to drop the bombshell of how much she loved him in the book. “I said, ‘John and Kelly, I want to write about you in the book. Do I have your blessing?’ and they said yeah so I wrote whatever I wrote. I don’t think even Kelly knows some of the stuff that’s in the book.”

The veteran actress, who now dances with Maksim Chmerkovskiy on “DWTS: All-Stars,” said she’d love to work with John again: “We always talk about that. We’d like to do another movie.” But she joked, “It will not be ‘Look Who’s Dancing.’”
