Donald Trumpmay have thought he was doing a charitable thing on Wednesday when he promised some big bucks to a charity of the President’s choice in exchange for Barack Obama’s college transcripts and passport applications, but not everyone is seeing the offer as entirely altruistic.

The “Apprentice” host, who has long been at the forefront of the Obama “birther” controversy, added fuel to the fire on Wednesday when he requested further proof of the President’s American citizenship.

“If he releases these records, it will end the question and indeed the anger of many Americans,” Trump said on his YouTube channel on Wednesday.

While Barbara Walters and her co-hosts at “The View” hosted Trump at their table only weeks ago, it seemed that Trump’s over-the-top behavior in regards to the President had finally gotten to her and, in an uncharacteristic move, the veteran newswoman decided to publicly call him on it.

“You and I have known each other for many years, and you know that I am your friend, and I think you are a brilliant businessman, and you are great on television, and you have a fascinating personality,” said Walters.

“Donald, you’re making a fool of yourself. You’re not hurting Obama. You’re hurting Donald, and that hurts me, because you’re a decent man. Stop it. Get off it, Donald.”
