“Dancing with the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba had fallen — but she could get up, thanks to Gilles Marini!
In one of the funniest bobbles in “DWTS” history, the longtime judge got so enthusiastic while critiquing the hunky French actor’s rumba with his partner Peta Murgatroyd that she fell off her chair and landed on the floor! Then Gilles played the total gentleman, rushing to the judges’ table to help Carrie Ann get back on her perch.
Backstage after the show, Gilles and Peta told reporters about the much-tweeted about incident.
“I’m like, ‘Gosh, she got hurt?’” Gilles said, describing his first reaction to Carrie Ann hitting the floor. “As the firefighter that I used to be, I just picked her up.”

Peta purred, “Gilles to the rescue!” Then the pretty blonde pro joked, “She didn’t fall off because the chair broke, or anything. She fell off because of Gilles’ sexiness and…” turning to her partner, she added, “the ability you have to draw women in, to suck them in and then to make them faint.”
When xfinityTV asked the “Switched at Birth” actor if that were true, Gilles smiled, “I would never say that. My mom will slap me if I say anything like that. I think it’s an unfortunate event but thank God she didn’t get hurt.”
Watch Gilles’ Dance That Made Carrie Ann Fall on the Floor:
Gilles preferred to talk about his great dance with Peta, which resulted in a near-perfect score of 29.5. After Carrie Ann gathered herself, the judges agreed that Gilles had delivered a beautifully theatrical, well-acted performance. “The next thing you know, the compliments are flying around and I got kind of deaf because of the roar of the crowd and the compliment and I heard Oscars. I was like, where am I? Who’s Oscar? I was flying high. Beautiful. It was awesome.”
However, Carrie Ann’s not-so-beautiful chair-castrophe was the talk of the night. Karina Smirnoff, who fell during her dance with Apolo Anton Ohno last week, told xfinityTV, “When she fell out of the chair, I thought, this is horrible! I started a curse. I fall last week, she falls this week!”
And Sabrina Bryan said, “Oh, my God, it was hysterical. So funny! I didn’t see it [live]. I just saw the replay. I can’t wait to get home and look on my Tivo.”
