Whoops! One of Hollywood’s Mr. Nice Guys had a naughty moment when Tom Hanks dropped the F-bomb live on “Good Morning America” Friday.

The unfortunate slip occurred when interviewer Elizabeth Vargas asked the Oscar winner to demonstrate one of the accents his uses in his new film “Cloud Atlas.”

“Most of it is swear words,” Hanks cautioned. “If you say it with an accent like that, they won’t know,” Vargas replied.

He then rattled off a piece of dialogue in the thick accent and said the F word, before quickly catching himself with a look of horror.

“We are so sorry, ‘Good Morning America’!” Vargas immediately exclaimed.

“Man, oh, man! I am so sorry, I have slipped into a brand of acting — I have never done that before,” a shocked Hanks said. “I want to apologize to the kids in America watching right now, and let me say that the next time I am on ‘Good Morning America’ there will be a seven second delay.”

After the incident Hanks followed up with an apologetic Tweet:

“For GMA, spesh kowtow for Lizzie V for WHAT DID I JUST SAY??? Oops! In character! Sorry! Hanx,” he wrote.

According to TVNewser, a spokesperson for ABC News later said in a statement: “This morning Tom Hanks accidentally used an expletive during a live interview on ‘GMA’ with Elizabeth Vargas. They both immediately apologized on air, and the show was corrected for all subsequent feeds.”
