Fox is extending its prime-time lineup next Tuesday, Oct. 23, by a half hour to accommodate airing its entire comedy line-up, as well as the remaining “X Factor” episode that was abruptly cut off Wednesday night due to a MLB rain delay.

The scheduling snafu confused viewers on both coasts and angered “X Factor” judge Simon Cowell, who referred to it as “a total F up.”

The Fox comedies “Raising Hope,” “Ben and Kate” and “New Girl” will kick-off the night beginning at 8/7c, with an hourlong episode of “The X Factor” airing beginning at 9:30/8:30c.

The unusual move will push Fox’s prime-time schedule to 10:30, instead of wrapping up at its usual 10 p.m.

The special one-hour edition of “The X Factor” will feature the conclusion of the judges’ Home rounds, where each judge picked their final four finalists, as well as a recap of the footage that did air Wednesday night. However, the network will no longer be airing the full two-hour episode as they had initially announced after the rain delay fiasco.
