The tension heats up in the claustrophobic confines of the U.S.S. Colorado on ABC’s “Last Resort” this week (Thursday, Oct. 18), as a rogue crew member threatens to blow the submarine wide open with a hand grenade.

The Colorado is the advanced nuclear sub that is the center of the action on “Last Resort,” airing Thursday nights at 8/7c on ABC.

In the scene above, the crew member confronts Capt. Marcus Chaplin (series star Andre Braugher), demanding that the captain set a course for shore and surrender himself and the sub to U.S. military authorities.

The crew member’s demand stems from Capt. Chaplin’s decision to refuse an order received electronically that he open fire on an enemy nation with nuclear missiles. Chaplin refuses because he doubts the authenticity of the order. The result: He and his entire crew have been charged with treason, and are on the run from U.S. military forces.

And now, this crew member wants to force Chaplin to surrender so that he, the crew member, can clear his own name.

“Last Resort” drew 6.89 million viewers last week for its third episode. This week’s episode — previewed above — is the series’ fourth.
