President Barack Obama continues his sofa surfing when he sits down next for a chat with Jon Stewart on “The Daily Show” on Thursday, October 18, Comedy Central announced Friday.

This will be Obama’s sixth appearance on the program and his second since taking office. He last visited “The Daily Show” on the October 27, 2010 episode.

There’s no debating it, the visit is perfectly timed for Stewart — it takes place two days after next week’s second presidential debate, which will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., with moderator Candy Crowley.

After admitting he had “a bad night” in his first showdown with Republican rival Mitt Romney, Obama certainly will be seeking debate redemption … meaning there should be plenty of fodder for Stewart, one way or the other.

“The Daily Show” airs week nights at 11/10c on Comedy Central.
