The Kardashians’ empire may be expanding once again, this time with an eye cast toward the talk-show circuit.
Momager-mogul Kris Jenner is reportedly in talks to host her own daytime talk show, according to Deadline.
The reality TV maven is in discussions with Twentieth Television to launch a test run of daytime program on Fox TV Stations, possibly by next summer. Jenner has dipped her toe in the talk-show pool with guest co-hosting gigs on CBS’s “The Talk” and filling in on the fourth hour of “Today.”
A similar trial-run format worked for former “Real Housewives” star Bethenny Frankel, whose new talk show got a six-week test run this summer on Fox affiliates in major markets and recently was picked up for national syndication in 2013.
Jenner spawned her family’s E! reality show, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” into a franchise with multiple spin-offs and a fashion line, with her “prized possession” daughter Kim Kardashian and sisters Khloe and Kourtney leading the charge.
While the talk-show market is overrun with celebrity-fronted talkers, the Deadline story notes that none of this fall’s new crop, which included “Katie,” “Steve Harvey,” “Jeff Probst,” and “Ricki Lake,” have become break-out hits.
