Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas shocked “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” fans by having an angry showdown in rehearsal footage aired on the show Monday night. Viewers saw Bristol break down in tears as she accused veteran pro Mark of wishing he were dancing with his previous “DWTS” partners Shawn Johnson or Sabrina Bryan instead of her. Although Mark tried to assure the politician’s daughter that wasn’t true, Bristol walked out of practice in a huff.

But on performance night, she and Mark couldn’t have looked better as (when iconic dance reboots were the theme) they gave their interpretation of Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough’s classic Paso Doble. Although the couple received the lowest score of the night, a 22.5, Bristol, who dressed like a queen on a chessboard, was buoyed by the judges’ raves. In fact, notoriously tough judge Len Goodman said it was her best dance.

After the show, here’s what the controversial dance pair told reporters about their tiff, the reported threat Bristol has received, her workout routine, and the chances of Sarah Palin ever doing “DWTS”.

Watch Bristol’s Breakdown Below:

How are you guys feeling after your argument?
Mark: Here’s the thing with these packages they show before our dance—they’re a minute and a half. We then also had Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday which went beautifully. We left the studio to take a break, came in the next day we were like, aaah, let’s move on and really knock it out, try to turn in the best performance we’ve had this season. We did just that. We’re fine. We’ve danced together before. This isn’t our first season together. The last season we did together, back in Season 11, we didn’t argue once. Not even—nothing. Just chill. So the fact that we’ve made it through a season and a quarter and now it’s our first fight? It’s amazing because at some point you fight with your partner.

Is that how close you guys are, that you can speak openly?
Bristol: Yeah, definitely.

Mark: We’re like family. We love each other. Sometimes people piss each other off. You guys know if you’re in a personal relationship, working relationship, things happen and we carried on.

Bristol, you were upset about Shawn and Sabrina, who are….
Bristol: Two amazing dancers. Yeah, but Mark is reassuring and we got through this week and I’m thankful for it. I’m thankful that we got that fight out of the way and we’re just moving along.

Mark: We got our best scores [of the season], went up four and a half points. But here’s the thing to answer your question about Shawn and Sabrina—those are two different seasons for me, Season 5 and Season 8. We’re in Season 15 now. I’m not looking back; I’m not trying to look back. I’m here with Bristol. I’m focused. We’re working together; we get along great. We had one rough day in however many, many days we’ve been together.

Bristol: Hours and hours!

Mark: I love Shawn and Sabrina and will continue to support them but Bristol’s my number one and I’ll always be here 100 percent for her.

Do you think the judging is fair? You guys got slammed—
Mark: Not tonight, we didn’t. It is what it is. At the end of the day, it’s three people’s opinions against the fans of the show. We’re here for the fans as long as they enjoy what we’re doing, we’re happy. We’re doing our best. We can’t do any better.

After watching your rehearsal footage, do you want to censor yourself?
Mark: No because I’d rather have us be honest with each other. When those things happen, you got to get it out.

Bristol: And that’s what’s cool about “DWTS” is that it is so raw. There’s no staged moments like that in rehearsals.

What’s your reaction to the recent TMZ report that there was a suspicious package of white powder sent to you—and a threat that you be removed from the show or else?
Bristol: I didn’t really hear about it. I’ve been in Arizona but we’re protected here [on the "DWTS" L.A. set]. We feel safe. I’m tough. They [viewers of the show] saw me shoot a gun last week!

You and your mom Sarah both look so great—are you two following the same workout routine?
Bristol: My mom is an awesome athlete. She’s definitely my motivation and she keeps me going to hot yoga every morning and doing stuff like that.

Do you do that together?
Bristol: Yeah, we do! I try to keep up with her.

She’s also a big runner.
Bristol: Yeah, she is. She’s a big runner. She likes to do everything.

Do you think she’s overdoing it? Is she too thin?
Bristol: No. I think she’s really fit. She’s lean. She’s beautiful.

Would she do “DWTS” next?
Bristol: [Laughs] I don’t know. That would be hilarious.

What would you say if she wanted to do it?
Bristol: Oh, my gosh. I don’t know.

You’d teach her, wouldn’t you?
Bristol: Yeah. I’d try to.

“DWTS: All-Stars” will eliminate TWO couples on Tuesday’s results show, beginning at 9/8c on ABC.
