Tonight, the “Dancing with the Stars” All-Stars will face their biggest challenge—recreating an iconic dance from a past season of the show and acting as creative directors, taking control away from their professional partners.

Will this concept be a hit or a flop? Devoted “DWTS” fans will remember part of this idea was tried once before, when the season 11 celebrities re-booted unforgettable old dances. But the new element, having the stars also act as the directors, will give the dances a whole new twist.

This time, look for Kirstie Alley and pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy to boldly go where Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya went during season 13. Kirstie and Maks will recreate Carson’s Mick Jagger-themed cha cha to “Moves Like Jagger.” And unsurprisingly, the outrageous “Cheers” actress can’t wait to grab the creative reins. “I am calling the shots,” Kirstie said. “He should yield to me in certain areas because I have a very good artistic eye about the way I want the set to be and the costumes.”

Also, Kirstie pointed out, she’s older than Maks and much better able to channel Jagger. “I have a much better reality on Jagger than this young pup,” she smiled to reporters. “I’m putting Maks in a very tight, very low cut [costume] where you can see the groove going to [his] groove thing, tight pants because that’s what Jagger wears and a little loose vest. I’m going to coach him to move like Jagger.” Maks said, “Hopefully I can pull off the skinniest pants I’ve ever had in my life. I did tell her I have a big ass–you can’t put me in that.”

But he might have no choice, as the stars are in control. Speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno can’t wait for his special Monday night dance with pro Karina Smirnoff: “it’s going to be very emotional, but in a good way. Not like [you’ll] cry but [it will be] very passionate. If I can pull it off, I think it’ll be really cool.”

Sabrina Bryan, who dances with Louis Van Amstel, said although she got to choose the dance concept for their Paso Doble, “I’m definitely, 100 percent leaving the choreography up to my pro. All of the routines are going to be so epic so it’s going to be a lot of fun and I hope that we stay with the bar that’s going to be set for us.”

Louis said “we’ll get in trouble if we spill the beans” about their dance choice but teased that it will be “very sentimental to Sabrina.”

Soap star Kelly Monaco, however, did reveal what she will be performing with partner Val Chmerkovskiy, telling XfinityTV.com, “I chose his brother [Maks] and Laila Ali’s [season 4 Paso Doble] to re-do because I think he can do it better and [Judge] Carrie Ann Inaba keeps calling him Maks and I think this is going to make a name for himself.” After Monday night, Kelly declared of Val, “I don’t think he’ll be called Maks anymore.”

Val said viewers can expect “a lot of passion” from their dance, adding , “It’s very exciting, suited to who we are and what we are together.” Kelly was more blunt, saying, “Val is going to f—-ing nail it!”

Meanwhile, race car driver Helio Castroneves, who had a close shave last week with partner Chelsie Hightower when they crashed to the bottom two, are planning an iconic dance she said will be “full of fun, energy, and surprises.” Although Helio wouldn’t specifically reveal what dance they would re-do, he dropped a cryptic hint: “I think it’s going to be a lot of black and white.” So don’t look for the racing star to don his famous yellow suit again!

If nothing else, this week’s concept will certainly keep the pros on their toes! “I have to trust him. I’m like the hired help,” Anna Trebunskaya said of her dance with partner Drew Lachey.
