Voorhies, 38, denies she has an illness, but her mother Tricia says her daughter has been diagnosed with the mental illness.
“There are things that have traumatized her,” Tricia, 64, says. “I care deeply about my daughter and I want her to resume her life.” Lark lives with her mother, whom she calls “over-loving,” in Pasadena, Calif.
People also reports that Voorhies exhibited odd behavior during interviews for the magazine, claiming Lark “would frequently stop mid-sentence and stare off, often mumbling to herself or to others who weren’t there.”
Voorhies later brushed off the rambling conversations: “I have a strong spiritual sense. You caught me in moments of pray [sic].”
The story also mentions that the actress, who sued the National Enquirer in 2006 over an article that claimed she had a drug problem, sparked a flurry of questions about her state-of-mind when a “bizarre” Yahoo! video went viral earlier this year.
Largely out of the spotlight these days, Voorhies says she spends her time “working on low-budget indie productions, recording music and self-publishing her own books.”
