It couldn’t be called a wardrobe malfunction, but soap star Kelly Monaco did suffer a dress disaster on Monday night’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

Kelly didn’t feel pretty in pink during the Monday night performance show and afterward, she cursed the girly prom-style gown she wore in her quickstep with partner Val Chmerkovskiy.

The soap star finished third to last in the scoring and found herself in danger of elimination. And could it all be because of a bad costume choice?

Kelly candidly sighed to xfinityTV backstage after the show about the dress, “It’s just too cheesy. It didn’t work. The pink — it’s just not me. I chose it to step out of my comfort zone [but] I’ve never worn pink in my entire life [before] and this will be the last time.

“I realize you don’t step out of your comfort zone in the All-Stars. You do something that’s comfortable and make it better. I’ll never do that again.”

Did Kelly’s Costume Trip Her Up?

The “General Hospital” actress, who earned a score of only 22, was worried about her prospects for Tuesday’s elimination show. Only Bristol Palin, with 18 points, and Kirstie Alley, with 21, received lower scores from the judges. After making a frustrated gurgling sound, Kelly said, “I wish — I hope — we get to do the Paso [Doble next week]. That I’d be really excited for.”

Val admitted to reporters their routine “just wasn’t as magical” as last week’s dance, when Kelly “was so charismatic and had such presence on the floor because she was in her comfort zone. This week, I didn’t feel it.”

Kelly agreed: “I didn’t feel it. It was anticlimactic.”

Kelly Forces Val to Wear a Balloon-Filled Pink Bra During Rehearsal:

The soap stunner knew on show night that her pink dress not only wasn’t her style, it was also too long, obscuring some dance steps. When a reporter cited the problem, Kelly laughed, “No s—! And I had some really f—ing hard footwork! I was disappointed when I put the dress on, seriously, because we had intricate footwork and you couldn’t see any of it so Val was just like, ‘make sure [your frame] doesn’t collapse.’ ”

Now Kelly just hopes fans throw them a lifeline instead of a ticket home. She joked that she would “sell this dress on Hollywood Boulevard” for a chance to continue on All-Stars.

The second All-Star couple will be eliminated on tonight’s “DWTS” Results Show at 9/8c on ABC.
