The “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” Week 2 performance show belonged to Sabrina Bryan, who got the top score of the night — and she received the high mark after narrowly avoiding a serious injury in rehearsal.
“It feels awesome,” Sabrina told reporters backstage Monday night after her polished quickstep with partner Louis Van Amstel earned an incredible 26 points, including the first “9″ of the season.
But rehearsal footage aired during the show revealed that Sabrina had fallen hard on her right arm while trying out a complicated move — dancing up stairs with Louis.
“I was really scared,” Sabrina admitted to xfinityTV. “I gotta tell you — hitting my arm, I watched the video back and he completely protected my ribs, so I was really lucky that Louis protected me so much, but hitting my arm like that, the whole season just felt like, ‘aw, man, am I about to go home? I can’t do the rest of an All-Star season with a broken arm!’ It swelled up pretty bad.”

The Cheetah Girl said her fellow All-Stars then rushed to help her. “I was super scared and just hung out. They didn’t show [all of] it [on TV], hopefully they’ll show some of it [Tuesday night]. Literally, Joey, Kym, Karina, Helio, everyone was in the room with ice packs, throwing [frozen] peas at me, everything to try to get me better right away. That totally shows how the cast is so there for each other,” she smiled.
Meanwhile, Louis admitted the incident “was embarrassing, especially because all day I was saying, ‘I’m not going to drop you, I’m not going to drop you. Just let go.’ And then I dropped her.“

After the rehearsal drama, Sabrina considered it “a small glitch in the plan. He knew exactly what happened and I knew he would never, ever let me drop again.”
The pro was willing to take the move out of the dance but Sabrina said she told him, “Heck no!” In fact, Louis revealed, “not only did we not take it out, she said, ‘let’s do an extra turn to make it even more complicated.’ ”
The couple was rewarded with a score of 9 from judge Carrie Ann Inaba. Louis said he didn’t expect it: “Because of the scores and half points they give right now, I thought it would take a longer time to get there. To get the first one on Week 2 is amazing. It also brings a lot of pressure, though.”
