Comedian Chelsea Handler is known for being so wickedly funny, her talk-show guests are afraid her.
“Yes, people are very scared of me,” the “Chelsea Lately” star said of her reputation for being “unfiltered” on “The Today Show” Friday. “I hear that all the time, people are nervous about coming on, I have managers calling me up…”
“But I always take care of my guests, it’s a safe place to come,” she said, pointing out that the interview segments are very different from her panel guests who like to rip everything and anything to shreds.
Chelsea and the gang are getting some new digs, in the form of a fancy new studio space come October 15.
“I’m excited and really grateful,” Handler said, adding she’s particularly excited about getting her own personal bathroom. Now she won’t have to pass the studio audience lined up in the hallway in her towel and robe after she showers before the show anymore.
As for what viewers will see…
“We’re changing the look of the show, we’ve got a huge new stage so people can come and do live performances, Pharrell is doing the music…” Handler said of the upcoming changes to the E! show.
“It’s kind of a big time for the late-night shows, and being the only female, it is kind of a thing that everyone is talking about now,” Chandler says of making her own niche in the male-dominated field.
Some big celebrities guests are scheduled to help break-in the new set in the coming weeks, including Jennifer Aniston, Fergie and Miley Cyrus.
“Chelsea Lately” airs at 11/10c on E!
