Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” should be called Dieting with the Stars!

Celebrities and pro dancers love how rehearsing many hours a day for the hit ABC reality show melts the pounds away. But they’re also paying attention to what they eat during the season. As the All-Star 15th Season of the show premiered this week, xfinityTV got the skinny on what’s fueling some of the competitors.

Kirstie Alley: The former “Cheers” actress told reporters on Tuesday night that she’s following Organic Liaison, a healthy weight loss program that features organic food. “It keeps my energy up and keeps me from eating too much,” she revealed. Kirstie, who dances with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, was on the program before she started All-Stars, and now she just eats more of it. She said she likes being size 6-8. “I’m mostly 8-ish [now], 6-ish if there’s a stretchy dress. Nobody should have to starve themselves. You know, I’m never going to be a 2 [but] I will lose more weight. I don’t stay away from any foods anymore. I just try and [make] every food I put in my mouth organic.”

See Bristol Palin’s Amazing Transformation:

Cheryl Burke: The two-time mirror ball trophy winner said she started cutting calories even before the season started, in her “DWTS” “off-season” over the summer. “I really wanted to look my best for All-Stars,” said Cheryl, who grabbed first place this week with football legend Emmitt Smith. “I’ve been into eating right and clean and it’s all about portion control. People have seen me grow up on the show so I’ve learned from my mistakes.”

Peta Murgatroyd and Gilles Marini: The blonde dancer who is a front runner this season with actor Gilles Marini said her diet philosophy is “everything in moderation. I try to stay away from white carbohydrates—rice, pasta, bread, and stuff like that. When you really want to look good and trim, the sugar as well is really bad. Fats are okay for me but for my body type, sugar is really bad. And [I eat] lots of fruit and vegetables; fiber is amazing for the diet.” Now Peta’s partner Gilles is also following her plan: “In a week and a half, I lost nine pounds on Peta’s diet,” he told reporters. “She should just make a book and DVD.”

Watch the Highlights of the All-Stars’ First Dances in Week 1:

Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel: The “Cheetah Girl” and her pro are both getting their meals from an organic food delivery service called Paleta. “I don’t eat enough, usually. I don’t get enough snacks and stuff and so this makes it really easy and convenient and I love it. The food is amazing,” Sabrina said. Louis said they get so wrapped up in rehearsals that they forget to eat so delivered meals are essential. “This season we’re going to promote eating,” Louis declared. “Being normal is not size zero or two.”

Kelly Monaco: The soap star showed off her toned body this week in her dance with partner Val Chmerkovskiy. And after Tuesday night’s “DWTS,” Kelly told reporters her staying fit secrets. “It’s easy. You’ve just got to move your body and stay active. That’s it, really. You can eat whatever you want as long as you move around.”

Joey Fatone: The former NYSNC-er is familiar with losing weight and putting it back on. Joey said he lost weight before the season started to get in shape for All-Stars. “I’ve lost quicker than it’s been in a while,” he told xfinityTV. “The funny thing is when I went to [the man] who does our suits, he looked at me and went, ‘you’re the same size as you were when you first started Season 4. I was, ‘Really? Cool! That’s kind of good. I didn’t blow up like a whale yet.” Joey said he weighed 260 in January and dropped 30 pounds. Now a trim 230, the musician told reporters he “stopped eating a lot of crap. 70 percent of losing weight is diet. [I] slowly just get into it because I know for me, if I try to do a hard core diet, one night, of course, I’ll have a drink or two and get a little buzz and go, ‘I want FRIES and EVERYTHING! It’s a work in progress.”
