It’s official: We have a new “Bachelor” and yup, it’s Sean Lowe. ABC made the announcement Tuesday, confirming months of speculation.
Lowe will star on the upcoming 17th season of the looking-for-love (in all the wrong places) reality show set to debut in January 2013.
The 28-year-old “businessman and entrepreneur” from Dallas was a fan favorite on last season’s “The Bachelorette,” where he crushed on Emily Maynard but came in a broken-hearted third place.
Now in the starring role as the rose giver, Lowe is “confident that he will find his soul mate and a lasting, love-filled relationship this time on ‘The Bachelor’.”
Rumors that Lowe was “the one” first began circulating in July, along with mentions of possible contenders such as Emily’s #2, race car driver Arie Luyendyk, Jr., and former “Bachelorette” Ali Fedotowsky’s ex-fiance Roberto Martinez.
