"Modern Family" (ABC)

When “Modern Family” returns for a fourth season on Sept. 26, the ABC comedy will pick up right after the announcement that Gloria (Sofia Vergara) is pregnant and will follow her as she — and the rest of the family — get used to the idea that they will soon have a new bundle of joy.

“So far in the first four episodes, the storylines really have revolved about having more kids,” star Ty Burrell says.

With Burrell saying kids plural, it could mean that there are more to come. Check out all the baby news that XfinityTV.com was able to suss out as well as some other spoilers about the new season of “Modern Family”:

When will Gloria’s baby be born: Since Gloria announced her pregnancy in May, the baby is going to be born pretty much in real time, so there is a good chance it will be born in February sweeps. Of course, along the way, the producers will have fun with the spitfire as she has to accept the fact that her curves will be expanding and she may even have to wear maternity clothes! (Or from the looks of the above photo, maybe not!)

Will Claire and Phil decide to get in on the baby games: With her stepmother expecting and her oldest daughter off to college, might Claire (Julie Bowen) decide to fill the void with a new baby?

While Burrell wouldn’t go into detail about Claire and Phil’s decision, he does reveal that in one of the first four shows of the new season, “There is an episode about Phil and a vasectomy and whether or not they are done [having kids].”

Now that Haley (Sarah Hyland) has left for college will she still be a part of the show? “She heads off to college, but it’s not that far away,” executive producer Christopher Lloyd told TVLine. “She stays in touch, and she visits home; it’s kind of a typical first-year-in-college experience, in that she feels a little bit of loneliness and adjustment. She wants her family, but doesn’t want her family. So, it’s a nice change in her life that’s going on, but she’s far from removed from our family.”

How will Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) deal with Gloria’s pregnancy?
Last season, gay couple Mitchell and Cameron decided they wanted a brother or sister for Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons), so she wouldn’t grow up as an only child. They tried to adopt again, but so far their efforts haven’t been successful. They tried so hard and now Gloria has this unexpected gift. What’s up with that?

“We have a lot to play with Lily,” co-creator Steve Levitan told Entertainment Weekly. “So it dawned on us that Cam and Mitchell already went through having a baby, so maybe it would feel repetitive. Maybe it would be nice to give it to someone else. Whose lives would it screw up the most? With Jay and Gloria, we really like what it will do to that household.”

Guest Stars: “Bridesmaids” star Wendi McLendon-Covey will be appearing in the third episode of the season. She appears in the episode where Lily starts kindergarten and gets picked on by a boy. McLendon-Covey is the lesbian mother of the boy, EW reports. McLendon-Covey joked with the magazine that she was happy to try something new. “I usually play someone who hates her kids — this time I love my child!”
