Mourning the loss of close friend Michael Clarke Duncan, Holly Robinson Peete visited the set of “Access Hollywood Live” to share stories about Duncan, talk about her relationship with the actor as well as update fans on the state of his fiancee Omarosa Manigault Stallworth in the aftermath of his passing.

Speaking with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on the show, Holly teared up when watching a clip of Michael receiving his Academy Award nomination for “The Green Mile.” Holly’s mother managed Michael early in his career and the two knew each other long before he hit Hollywood stardom.

“People never asked Michael for autographs, they just wanted hugs. That’s the kind of dude he was,” she said be fore adding that “He was like a brother to me.”

She noted that when they first met, Michael was a bodyguard for Jamie Foxx and was proud of his new life after he discovered fame.

Holly said that his love for Omarosa was the real deal, noting that all you had to do was look at them to know how they felt about each other.

“Anybody who thinks that love wasn’t real, all you had to do was be around them,” she recalled. “They had something really magical.”

She added that they had been planning a wedding in Africa in January but now Omarosa was forced to plan a celebration of her fiance’s life instead. Holly said that both the late actor-who spent two months in the hospital following a heart attack-and Omarosa were fighting to the end, despite the long odds against them.

“We all know that Omarosa is a strong personality but you want Omarosa with you when something like this happens,” Holly said.
