The Good Wife” Season 4 premieres on Sunday, September 30. CBS has released a promo entitled, “Stronger and Sexier!” In thirty short seconds, it packs it a lot of spoilers about the premiere, as well as plenty of strong and sexy. We open with our first glimpse of guest star Kristen Chenoweth, playing a journalist who is interviewing Alicia (Julianna Marguilies). Chenoweth was supposed to play a recurring role, but due to an on set injury, she will only appear in the premiere.

She asks Alicia why she is honoring her commitment to Peter (Chris Noth) when he cheated on her left, right, and center. Alicia retorts that his indiscretions are no excuse for breaking her commitment to him. Oh, Alicia, you sly, secretly separated, standing by Peter for your own reasons, dog. Wouldn’t it be amazing if she told the press that she evened the score by having a whole lot of sex with Will (Josh Charles)?

But the biggest shocker involves Kalinda (Archie Panjabi), who ended Season 3 lying in wait for her ex-husband, and seemingly ready to kill him. There is shot of her having what appears to be rough but consensual sex with a hot, tattooed guy. “Did you miss this?” he purrs at her. Is that the man who had her shaking in terror? The next scene appears to have her attacking him in an elevator, so maybe. Then we see her take out her baseball bat of justice and go after a far less attractive man. The bat is back!

Will also toasts the end of his suspension with Diane (Christine Baranski). His romance with Alicia fizzled, but maybe his business partner could unexpectedly become more than a friend.

Watch the promo and see if you can figure out what’s happening. Then write your own fan-fic about how the politically themed show managed to incorporate Clint Eastwood’s convention performance into its storylines.

“The Good Wife” premieres on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 9/8c on CBS.
