Comedian Jon Glaser is joining “Parks & Recreation” this season as a man who’s no fan of Leslie Knope.

Glaser, 44, will play a city councilman (and local orthodontist) in fictional Pawnee, Ind., who doesn’t like Leslie’s perky, enthusiastic attitude toward affecting constructive change in the community. The character will first be seen in the third episode of the upcoming fifth season of “Parks & Rec,” according to this story on the TVLine.com Web site.

Leslie, of course, is played by Amy Poehler on the NBC sitcom, which is returning for its new season on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 9:30 p.m./8:30c. Leslie was elected to the Pawnee town council as last season came to a close.

Glaser is mainly a New York-based performer who’s best known as a long-time writer for the old “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” where Glaser was seen in a multitude of sketches. He’s also turned up all over the place in very minor roles in shows such as “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “30 Rock.” And he has his own series on Adult Swim — “Delocated.”
