A month after Emily Maynard chose Jef Holm and accepted his marriage proposal on the season finale of “The Bachelorette,” the couple is fighting off cheating allegations that Emily betrayed Jef.
Jef is standing by his girl and casting doubt on his own brother — the source of the tabloid report.
“My family all says they are shocked, and obviously I’m shocked,” Jef told People Friday, “but if everybody knew the history he had with our family, no one would be surprised.”
Jef’s brother Mike Holm claims that Jef discovered Emily had sent explicit texts and a photo to a mystery man, leading to an explosive argument during the Holms’ family vacation with Maynard and Maynard’s daughter Ricki, 7, in Myrtle Beach, S.C., last weekend.
“I can tell you that it’s all 100% true. I was there and I heard the fight and watched the whole thing go down, Emily leaving and everything,” Mike told Us Weekly. “I love my brother very much and, like the rest of our family, I just want him to be happy.”
Revealing something of a twisted family tree, Jef blasts his brother, claiming Mike has done “hurtful” things to the family in the past.
“I like to give Mike the benefit of the doubt and think he’s changed, but obviously he hasn’t. He has a history of doing hurtful things to the family,” Holm added. “He’s been cut off from a lot of family things because he’s so dishonest.”
“This whole story is 100 percent false,” Jef insists.
