“Around the World in 80 Plates” co-host Cat Cora will be able to continue her culinary travels, having dodged jail time stemming from her DUI arrest last June.
The celebrity chef and Food Network star was arrested after rear-ending a vehicle in Santa Barbara after a night of merriment. She later pled no contest to driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher, according to TMZ.
While she won’t go behind bars, she was, however, sentenced to three years probation as well as nine months of DUI school, according to People, and had to pay $2,386 in fines. In addition, she received a 120-day suspended jail sentence, which she won’t be required to serve as long as she fulfills her other obligations.
Following her arrest, Cora expressed her regret.
“I deeply regret my decision to drive that evening after my designated driver became unavailable. I learned a very important lesson from this experience and take full accountability for my actions. This will never happen again.”
