Just days after his five-medal wins at the 2012 London Olympics (and a career total of 11 medals), U.S. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte is racing off to Hollywood.
Lochte, 28, has booked a cameo playing himself on The CW’s “90210,” the network announced Tuesday.
He’ll appear as a guest at a resort where Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) and Max (Josh Zuckermen) are staying to strengthen their relationship.
Lochte’s TV series debut on “90210″ will air Monday, Oct. 29 at 8/7c on The CW.
“When we found out Ryan Lochte was going to be in town and might appear on ’90210,’ we felt like we’d won a gold medal! Team USA are all-stars in our book, and we’re so excited he’s making an appearance on the show,” said executive producers Patti Carr and Lara Olsen in a statement. “We only wish the episode was a surf event so we could have gotten him in the water, but he deserves a little rest on dry land.”
The handsome athlete has made no secret of his desires to go Hollywood, admitting last Friday on “The Today Show” that he would love to be on a reality show and even get into … fashion?
“I’m definitely looking towards ‘Dancing With the Stars’ and ‘The Bachelor,’ so we’ll see what happens,” Lochte told Matt Lauer. “I definitely want to move to L.A. That’s been a big goal of mine, getting into fashion because that is my passion. When swimming is all said and done, I definitely want to get into fashion and design my own clothing line.”
